FABRICATION OF AFFORDABLE, LIGHT-WEIGHT, AND FLEXIBLE HYBRID NANOCOMPOSITE CLOTHING AGAINST RADIATION HAZARDS DUE TO NUCLEAR FALLOUT

The use of nuclear weapons and explosive radioactive dispersal devices demands strong protective measures. High-energy radiation is deadly and raises the risk of radiation-related illnesses. Rescue teams, also known as first responders, and residents of the area need protective clothing that is affordable, lightweight, and flexible enough to allow for maximum mobility. Furthermore, radiation causes charges to accumulate in electronic devices, disrupting their operation. Consequently, affordable, long-lasting personal and electronic decontamination/protection equipment is required. Our main goal is to produce low-cost and sustainable radiation shields used for protecting people and devices in the event of radioactive fallout.

We also intend to create a modern crisis management system with newly designed decontamination materials and updated risk assessment methods. The results will be used to develop a policy offer on RN decontamination and crisis management, providing a coherent and uniform framework for the EU's nuclear safety initiatives.

We seek;

1. Institutions, companies working on; early detection of radiation; surveillance, and warning (sensor) systems, risk assessment, and crisis management in radiation fallout scenarios,
2. Experts working on radiation protection and emergency response procedures,
3. First responder organizations, including firemen, medical teams, and hazardous material units, are responsible for emergency rescue and cleanup efforts,
4. Researchers, working on crisis management and communication in radiation related incidents,
5. Public health officials working on nuclear safety,
